The World After the May 21st Judgment Day
The much advertised Judgment Day supposed to happen on May 21st was perhaps the most awaited by event that Christians and non-Christians worldwide had waited for. Not really out of religiosity, but purely out of curiosity – whether it would really happen.
As it turned out, the much awaited event became the most advertised flop.
The initiator of the doomsday message, Harold Camping, had no words to quell the general public's criticizing question of: “What now? Why hasn't the world come to an end?”
The 89-year-old retired civil engineer who has built a multi-million-dollar Christian media empire that publicizes his apocalyptic prediction, is spending his time far away from the questioning media and both the disappointed believers and non-believers alike.
It had been several months that believers spent their time warning the world of the pending cataclysm. In fact, some gave away their earthly belongings. There were also those who traveled long trips just to be with their loved ones.
Any way, either the hyped Judgment Day is nothing but – a hype, or it may have really been a religious truth, at least it made most of the people to thinking the briefness of time and the length of eternity.
The thing is, let's not wait for Camping to perfect his prediction computations, the issues we face right now should be enough to wake us up from deep stagnation and evolve instead into intelligent, caring beings that we are supposed to be so.
