TEPCO Hit by Power Outages at Fukushima-1 Nuclear Plant
The nuclear plant was crippled by the devastating earthquake and tsunami which hit the northeast of Japan on March 11.
In spite of the power outages, Tepco has maintained water injections into the No.1, 2 and 3 reactors at the plant, the official said.
But nitrogen injection into the No.1 reactor has been suspended from 02:57 pm local time (0557 GMT) said the official, adding that it remained unclear whether this was related to power outages at the control centers at the No.1 and No.2 reactors at 02:20 pm.
Tepco is still investigating the causes of the power outages and other related incidents at the plant, the official added.
